Arpege Perfume is a fragrance for women by Lanvin, created in 1927. Jeanne Lanvin’s only instruction during the creation of the fragrance was, “I’m not concerned with fashion or budget. I want perfection!” She wanted to transcend nature itself to create a new flower, a culmination of all the best that nature has to offer. Arpeggio, a musical term, is defined as; the notes of a chord being played in succession, rather than simultaneously. This fragrance is said to follow its name, such that the aromas of each scent’s notes perfectly play its theme alternately, or in succession. The opening is an elegant, refined combination of fruity and floral notes, transitioning to a distinct, prominent floral heart with a subtle touch of spice. The base of the ‘scale’ is a complex, musky-woodsy aroma that humbly lingers, for an energetic and very feminine atmosphere that lasts throughout the day.
